The rapid development of the game and esports industry has recently advanced Indonesia as one of the main players in the Southeast Asian game market. However, the dominance of imported games still rules the market, introducing foreign cultures that impact the cultural identity of Indonesian youth.
As a local game developer, we launched Lokapala, the first esports game in Southeast Asia, inspired by the 8th-century Nusantara cultural values written on the outer corridor walls of Borobudur. Lokapala is not only a local player but also involved in a series of national esports competitions such as the Presidential Cup and the National Sports Week (PON), and hosts the Student Level Championship "Ksatriya Mahardhika".
Ksatriya Mahardhika, a series of student-level activities aimed at increasing youth participation in various regions, proudly announces this year's series of events containing seminars, workshops, and various youth activities as well as local game championships. This event will cover 15 regions throughout Indonesia, including DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, South Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, Maluku, and West Papua.
This series of events is divided into several programs: Pre Roadshow, which is socialization to schools and content creators with a cultural theme to reintroduce the beauty of Indonesian culture through content creativity and include Ksatriya Mahardhika elements as an inspiration for the values of heroism and courage.
Content Creator Program training, which is content creation training for one month as preparation for the Ksatriya Mahardhika 2024 content creator competition.
Roadshow, aimed at providing understanding and increasing awareness of local games, especially Lokapala, and conducting educational sessions for 2 days about Esport Industry, Lokapala, Public Speaking, Event Organizing, and Content Creator.
Talent Hunt, in the form of Creative Dance, Song Cover, and Shoutcaster. Lokapala Tournament, combining culture and e-sport, designed specifically for junior high school, high school, and vocational school students as school representatives.
By involving 15 regions in Indonesia, this tournament not only pursues excellence in Lokapala games but also encourages understanding and appreciation of the richness of Nusantara culture.
